Elizabeth Betty Walker: Church Soloist & Children's Choirmaster: Elizabeth grew up in Manassas, Virginia. Her earliest memories include her love of singing, and she recalls her mother saying, “She could sing the top 40s like an opera singer!” While working as a secretary at the Virginia State Police Academy in 1973, she met Junius A. Walker – an Academy graduate of the 1972/73 class. The couple moved to California in 1979 where they married in 1980. Subsequently, they moved back to Virginia where Trooper Walker began patrolling Dinwiddie County in 1984. The couple had two beautiful daughters, Vera and Clarissa. Elizabeth took private voice lesson from Dr. Aldrich, Atkins of Virginia state University during 1992 & 1993 and sang professionally for a period thereafter. She has been a long-time member of Bott and an integral part of the church’s past choirs, as well as a frequent soloist during services. Her greatest loss was suffered on March 7, 2013, when her husband of 33 years was fatally shot in the line of duty. Mrs. Walker is now enjoying retirement, spending time with her three gorgeous grandchildren and traveling, and her latest project is to develop a children’s choir for our church which launched in March 2022.

Numerous members of the congregation also share their musical talents with us on a regular basis, raising their voices in praise or playing various musical instruments.
